The main theme of my work is day to day life, the comments, conversations and language that we encounter. Encompassing the things that make up our experiences of life; be it the good, the bad or the ugly. Written text is then used as a means for exploring these experiences in a Fine Art context. Text is of paramount importance within my work, on both visual and personal levels and is used as a method of reflecting and commenting on my own experiences. Key to using text is the concept of interpretation. Although my work has become increasingly personal by maintaining a sense of ambiguity, the words can then be reinterpreted through the viewer's own experiences. The notion that a single statement can mean many different things to many different people is integral to my work.
